Renewable Energy Club - Tuesday Meeting

Hello everyone, sorry for the last notice, but we are having a meeting tomorrow again, at the solar house at 11. I want to set up the officer positions which I kept saying I would do, so, if you want to take a role on, come tomorrow or let me know if you cannot make it and Ill see what I can do.

Tomorrow I want to talk about the Solar Heating Project for the Reccenter in detail, go into where it came from, who wants to work on that project now and what our next move is in that campaign. It should be a great project and something that I feel is really viable and necessary for our pool.

There are a few interested professors I have spoken with, so one may stop by but if not he will be attending a future meeting to talk about how he sees the project and what he can help out with.

Announcements:
The Green Campus Program is off to a start on campus and the interns are looking for volunteers who may be interested in helping out. For those who do not know,  last spring, a group of students applied and got a grant to run energy efficiency programs on campus. The program comes from the state of CA and the Alliance to Save Energy and 12 schools are choosen, 6 UCs and 6 CSUs. Cal Poly was the 6th and this is such an amazing honor! We are a Green Campus, or, trying to be. But, projects entail dorm energy competitions, monitoring systems for the dorms, IT energy efficiency program use, Occupancy and Load reduction in campus buildings. If anyone is interested in any of these, there are people to contact. Ask me about it tomorrow.

Focus the Nation is in the planning stages. The event is a day-long simposium on Global Warming Solutions for America. There is planned to be a green job fair, speakers on all sides of the issue, from business solutions, engineering solutions, arch, social, political. There are art installations planned for the UU and Dexter, there is a band playing on that day. Basically, a whole lot of fun. But, the group needs more help to plan for the event. They meet on Fridays at 11 in garden grill and the date is not till January 31st, but that will come soon! Let me know if you are interested.

Renewable Energy Club First Meeting

Hello everyone and welcome back to the Fall Quarter. I hope you are all as excited as I am about this coming year!

We will have our first meeting this Tuesday from 11-12 at the Solar House on campus. (see attached for location). I would like to get a room with more chairs for next time, but for now, this will do wonderfully! Plus the house is off-the-grid.

Attached is the agenda, I will print a few but if you could, please bring a copy for yourself. Id rather save some trees and not print out a ton.

Thanks,

Renewable Energy Club 07-08

Hello Renewable Energy Enthusiasts! I hope you are all having a wonderful summer, maybe workin with some green energy yourself. I have been to DC and back in a leadership workshop called Change It 07! where I meet some of the most amazing campus coordinators involved in sustainability and the likes at their school. But everyone was impressed by Cal Poly. So lets continue the trend and STEP IT UP IN 07-08!

I'm sending this out to find out a little info:
ONE! This Fall I hope to start strong with fresh ideas and a bit of enthusiasm. If anyone is interested in planning the first meeting or has some wonderful ideas LET ME KNOW! I plan to be working on it the week prior to school. On Sept 14th WOW club day will be going on as well, and We'll be there. Exciting huh?!

TWO! IF you are an alumni, faculty, or anyone else who may not want to receive emails constantly such as 'when to meet at the library to...', LET ME KNOW! and I will create a separate group of contacts to send out monthly updates on where the club is, where we're heading... nice little summary thing. Wow, wouldn't that me nifty?

That's it! If anyone has any questions, please ask.
